My milkshake is bigger than yours

Crazy week- Zoo, Amusement Park, and lots of new words from Piper. Her favorite words of the moment are "tantee" (candy) and "mo tantee" (more candy).
Being able to hear what Piper has been thinking all of this time is so awesome and funny. And she is totally in love with me lately- I'm soaking it up, before I turn around, and she is a teenager who makes me drop her off at the mall 2 blocks away, so her friends don't see me.

Also- I am outputting about 50 ounces of breastmilk a day to feed the twins. That is almost a litre and a half, or 3 POUNDS of milk. Moo, indeed.

smiling a big fake smile, so I'll let her get back to watching Dora

checking in

I have been unable to post lately because of computer problems and severe laziness and lack of imagination. Plus, it's been SO hot all month, and we've been outside in search of water. We did find our local beach and waterpark, which are only 10 minutes away!!! ALL THIS TIME, we were so close to free swimming, and didn't realize it.

Anyway, gotta go clean up- we're having family over for dinner, so I should vaccuum up enough dog hair so that I can at least find the twins.

Stampedin'

We went down to the Calgary Stampede yesterday with Piper, ready for some fun. The stampede grounds are like a big cowboy circus, with games, rides, food, booze, music, animals, and about 30,000 people dressed up like cowboys. About half of those people were teenagers, and Robb & I cringed as we watched the drunken gaggles of 16 year old girls in their slutty cowslut getups. Ugh. We clung to each other and prayed that our girls will not be dressing like that in 15 years.... God, we felt old... and skeered....

View the fun:

Howdy, donkey!

Grasping at Straws

Tonight, Piper was VERY overtired from a busy day outside, so she didn't want to go to sleep. In order to prolong the bedtime goodnight ritual with me, these were the things she requested:

milk
juice
her baby
her other baby
yet another baby
the babies' bottles
her duck
the baby duck
no, the yellow baby duck, not the green one
hugs
a book
another book
her socks on
her hat on
her hair clip
a hair clip for her lamb
to go poop on the potty (she's never pooped on the potty)
socks on her babies
hats on her babies
a diaper on her baby
no, not on top of her clothes, under her clothes
a flower
candy (nice try, kid)
dee? dee? DEE? (I'm not sure what that meant..)
tow? tow? TOW? ( I don't think even she knew what that meant...)

After a half hour of this, as a last ditch effort to put off bedtime, unable to think of anything else, in an exhasuted, desperate voice, she pleaded for my breast pump.

I've got to nip this little ritual in the bud. Smart little turnip.
