Our new internet provider will burn in hell for all eternity

I've been TRYING to post- and if this one doesn't go through, I am going to find Mr. Telus' house, throw my laptop through his window, key his car with my "World's Greatest Mom" keychain, and pour breast milk into his gas tank. Not being able to get online for more than 30 seconds is hatefull and unusual abuse for a woman who is about 18 months pregnant with twins. I AM A BEACHED WHALE, WITH NO OTHER FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT RIGHT NOW!!! CUT ME A BREAK, YOU WORLD WIDE WEB OF CRUELTY!

Anyway, I had another ultrasound today, and the twinnies are doing great, weighing about 3 lbs each, chubbin' up for their arrival in 4-6 weeks. I'm hoping they get to at least 4 lbs each, otherwise, I will have to put them in a Kleenex box to sleep, so tiny will they be. Piper was 5lbs, 14 oz, and she seemed SO very wee.

I haven't gotten a good belly shot, but I will. I am a giant round moving belly with a little body attached to it.

Here are some other pics from the past few weeks.

Piper honing her MAD big sister skillz on her sweet baby cousin

When we moved into our new home, we were very surprised to find Elton John still living here

We love our new huge jacuzzi tub- big enough for the whole family

Even our in-house computer tech couldn't get my email to work properly.

I've been trying to get these photos on here for an HOUR.. hope it works..

Greetings from Mount Eve

Just checking in to say that I am still here and doing fine!
Our internet connection is a little wonky right now, so I'm way behind on all of my blogs, but it should be fixed soon. I miss you all!

We're all moved into our new home, and I absolutely love it. I am in decorating heaven, and we're all settling into our new 'hood quite nicely.

On the baby front, I'm 30 weeks pregnant now, which means I only have a maximum of 7 weeks to go before they induce me, but most likely I'll go into labour before that. I will update soon with pictures of my girthiness- I hope y'all have wide screen monitors.

I must go hoist myself up the stairs to bed now, I'll write a proper entry soon.

Two

Her name was Piper Lola, and she was a Showgirl.

Our baby turns two whole years old today, and she has brought more laughter and joy into our lives than I could ever have imagined. She is so spirited, loving and funny- one of the most delightful little humans I have ever met. She looks mostly like her Daddy, with a tiny twist of me, but she is definitely her own girl with her own opinions.

Right now, her Great Loves are Dora, ducks, her lamb, gymnastics, other children, and her Mummy & Daddy. A true Pisces girl, she also loves the water, especially swimming at the big pool. She’s not afraid to dunk her whole head underwater, and has always been our little fish baby. Singing and dancing are also very cool with her, and she’s usually swaying back and forth while singing off key to one tune or another. I’m not sure yet if she’s left or right handed, as she uses both pretty equally to eat, color, reprogram the DVD player, and pick her nose. Her favorite foods include cheese, raspberries, blueberries, yogurt, noodles and cereal, but she’ll try pretty much any food we put in front of her. She’s a great little restaurant diner as well. She loves playing with other toddlers, but her favorite playmates are little girls between the ages of 4 and 8. Strangers or not, she will run squealing up to them, take their hand, and gaze at them admiringly, trying to mimic everything they do, while laughing hysterically. Her friend Zoë, her cousin Aria, and her Auntie Mich are Big Fun in her book. Mich is a bit older than 8, but only physically.

Piper loves adventure, and is quite brave when it comes to trying new things and meeting new people. We do a lot of shopping and errand running together, and she is always up for a play date of any kind. She’s already been on 2 big plane trips, once to Mexico and once to Florida. Being born into a family of rolling stones, she is already used to moving. This weekend, she will be in the middle of her third move in the past 2 years.

It’s been over a year since our girl has been a full time walker, and now, she only runs. Life is too short to merely walk. She’s not a big crier either, even if she really hurts herself, it’s only a 2 second sob before she’s off to the next thing. She’s still not a big talker, although she is saying more and more all the time. She says about 40 words regularly, although some of them may be Yiddish or Dutch, but is adding to her vocabulary every day. She fills in the rest with hand gestures and noises, (it’s the French in her,) but she’s always able to get her point across. She often says, “Yeah, yeah, YEAH!” but has yet to utter the word “No.” She just shakes her head emphatically back and forth instead. She’s very good about saying “Thank you” and “Help”, which is so cute that I have to restrain myself from eating her face off. She’s also a very healthy little monkey, and has never been seriously sick, other than the occasional cold. She’s never been in the hospital, or even thrown up in her life. I thank God for this on a regular basis. She’s also a good sleeper, about 12 hours a night, plus a 2 hour afternoon nap. She totally digs her crib, and will play happily in there for as long as we let her. She likes to make a big production out of pooping, which I take as a good sign for upcoming potty training. She likes to tell me she’s going to poop, then holds my hand as she bends her knees slightly, and grunts it out with a red faced determination that I hope she applies to all important things in her future. I try to be supportive as I cheer her on while Robb usually gags in the background. He’d never make the Pooping Cheerleading team, while I’d be Captain.

She’s a pretty rough and tumble kinda gal, but she also has her girlie side. She loves hair accessories, taking care of her babies, lipstick, and has a blossoming shoe fetish. If you’ve ever left your shoes at our front door, chances are that she’s shuffled around the house in them. She’s got more shoes than I do at this point, because toddler girl shoes are impossible not to buy. Even if you try to resist, they will jump into your shopping cart and seduce you with their cuteness. Also, she enjoys talking on the phone- real or fake will do. I never thought I would be one of those mothers who always doused their daughters in shameful amounts of pink, but IT JUST HAPPENS. In spite of this, Piper’s favorite color is yellow. It’s always the first crayon, block, or playdoh color she picks.

Piper is a big cuddler, and very generous with her hugs and kisses, which I PRAY will last forever. There are few things sweeter in life than her little face in my neck and her hands twisted in my hair. My heart aches when I think of all the challenges she will have in the coming year, adjusting to our growing family. Between a new house, potty training, a big girl bed, and becoming a big sister to TWO new babies, she will grow and learn SO much. I know that these will all be positive things, once she gets used to them, but I know it will also be hard. It makes me happy that she is such a strong little soul, so adventurous, with so much confidence and joy. I know it will make this next year easier for her, and for us.

Happy birthday, our beautiful little Pippa. Daddy and I love you more than anything, and feel so incredibly lucky that you are our girl,

Hugs and Kisses,

Love, Mommy

It's March??!!

I swear, the last time I was pregnant, I was a normal, fully functioning human being. I basically paddled through my life, the same as always, minus the cocktails. This time, not so much. I am so tired and busy with the weekly doctor's appointments and ultrasounds, taking care of Piper, preparing for our move next week, and the babies' arrivals, that I can't seem to write. When I try, it just comes out all whiny... kinda like this. Pathetic! Sorry especially to the Grandparents, who I know are wanting to see some pics of us. I will deliver! I promise! And we miss you too!

First, here is a picture of THE BELLY, now 7 months old. My skin is stretched so tightly, it looks shiny and thin, like a balloon that is about to explode. You can see every vein in all its creepy blue glory. I truly don't know what will happen to it in the next 2 months. I should put plastic sheets on the bed, just in case it does blow up. It is perfectly round, and as hard as a rock- my butt is insanely jealous. Also not apparent in this photo is that one of the twins has my bladder in a vice grip, while the other is bitch slapping my lungs. Aaaahhhhh, so comfortable! This is our first day all week that we don't have any appointments, so YES, we are still in our pajamas. And we're not brushing our hair!

We got pictures taken at our ultrasound this week, and they are EXCELLENT! You can clearly see the girls' sweet faces, arms, legs, and profiles. Unfortunately, it wouldn't scan clearly, so I can't post them here. But take my word for it- they are beautiful! The cutest little alien monkeys you've ever laid eyes on. They are over 2 lbs each, are very active, and are growing perfectly. "Twin A" is a teeny bit bigger then "Twin B". Do you like the names we've chosen? We will call them "A" and "B" for short.

Here's Pippadoo eating cereal. Such a neat, tidy, delicate little flower, my girl. Eats like a shark. ;)

Here are my loves, being silly. Robb only makes this crazed lunatic crocodile smile face when a camera is close by. He normally looks much less like a mental patient, and more like a handsome devil. It's baffling- I could attempt to take his photo while he was fast asleep, and somehow, he would still make this face.

This is what I came home to the other night, after Robb and Piper spent the evening together. He took her to an electronics store to look at TVs- his idea of the perfect night out. Like me, she became so bored, that she slipped into a voluntary coma. It is the only defense.

So there it is- an update for the family. Sorry to my other readers for the weak posts lately, but I've got nothing. When I try to conjure up something entertaining, I have to stop to pee, then I forget what I was doing, then I get hungry, then tired. But I will be back.

In the meantime, go read this. I like to think that I am a kind, compassionate person who would never laugh at someone else's pain, but Jenn has proven me wrong. In fact, if you don't find this funny, I don't want to even hang out with you.
